Traveling with Pets

While not common for business travel, we understand that pets are family and it is important for some travelers to have the flexibility to bring them along on trips away from home.

While not common for business travel, we understand that pets are part of the family and it is important for some travelers to have the flexibility to bring them along on trips away from home. Finding a pet-friendly hotel is not always an easy feat, but we are happy to report that a number of FedRooms hotels allow furry companions.

A few highlighted chains include:

Aloft Hotels: Aloft hotels are part of the Marriott family and 104 of their 169 North American properties are pet friendly. Through their “ARF” (Animals are Fun) program, Aloft provides canine guests with treats and a special bed, bowls, and toys for use during their stay.

Hyatt: From special amenities to plush pet beds, Hyatt’s pet-friendly extras make your furry friends feel right at home. The Park Hyatt in Chicago donates the entirety of traveler’s $100 pet fee to the PAWS animal shelter, and the Park Hyatt in Vienna offers photoshoot sessions with your pet. See here to browse pet-friendly hotels within the Hyatt brand.

Kimpton Hotels: Kimpton goes the extra mile to be sure pet guests enjoy their stay with special amenities like comfortable pet beds, bowls, treats at check in, and pet friendly yappy hour wine receptions in the evening. There are no additional fees or no restrictions on the number, size, breed, or weight of the pet and some locations even have a Directors of Pet Relations on staff. View Kimpton’s Pet Policy.

La Quinta: The majority of La Quinta properties allow up to two pets (cats and dogs) per room. Some La Quinta hotels instituted a pet fee in early 2019 of $20 for a one-night stay and $40 for a stay of two nights or more. View La Quinta’s Pet Policy.

In addition to being pet friendly, one FedRooms property, the Home 2 Suites by Hilton hotel in Biloxi, Mississippi, is passionate about putting adoptable dogs into loving homes. For the last year, the property has housed many adoptable shelter dogs from the Humane Society of South Mississippi in their lobby as a part of the “Fostering Hope” program. Guests are able to apply to adopt or foster one of the eligible pups during their stay, increasing the chances of chosen dogs to get noticed and adopted. So far, 33 dogs have found their forever home through this program.
