Hotel Loyalty Programs
When booking a hotel, what is the most important component you consider when deciding where to stay?
Do you always stay at the same brand, or even the same property if you are a frequent traveler? In a study conducted by the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) in partnership with Omni Hotels & Resorts, 82 percent of travelers say loyalty programs matter when booking a hotel. That same study also revealed that “nine in 10 business travelers view rewards points and perks as a motivating factor in selecting a hotel and 81 percent believe being a loyalty member results in better service.”
Loyalty programs are mutually beneficial for both travelers and hotel brands, allowing hotels to bring in repeated business in return for providing a reliable and high-quality service. Joining a hotel loyalty program is also a free way for travelers to experience perks and rewards in return for staying at your favorite properties. From check-in to check-out, hotel staff often treat loyalty program members to superior service as a thank you for program participation. Front desk staff are more likely to put loyalty program members in better rooms, if available, on higher floors. On the off chance that there is an issue with overselling rooms, loyalty program participation can prevent you from needing to find a new hotel at the last minute as well.
The U.S. News & World Report recently evaluated 15 loyalty programs associated with major hotel brands across several indicators of excellence. According to the findings, here are the best hotel rewards programs of 2022. The ranking system relies on a number of different factors, including member benefits, the number of nights required to earn free stays, and how easy it is to both earn and use rewards.
